About the Founder
Maia Leroy, Founder and Principal Consultant of Lumenergy LLC, is a California native with four years of experience in shaping climate and energy policy in the State. She is the former Policy Director for the Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Technologies (CEERT), a widely respected clean-energy 501(c)(3) nonprofit that pushed for major reliability and decarbonization reforms by intervening at state agencies, convening renewable advocacy groups, and publishing widely cited policy analyses on renewable energy and transmission planning/permitting before ceasing operations in the fall of 2025. Before her policy career, Maia pursued an academic background in physics with honors and dean’s list recognition and holds six years of laboratory and analytical experience. Additionally, Maia has experience in teaching, training, and tutoring others in physics, mathematics, laboratory operations, and research and analysis. She combines critical thinking with compassionate advocacy to push towards a cleaner, more equitable energy future. She has been quoted by prominent media outlets, authored influential reports, testified before legislative committees, and led successful coalitions to advance renewable energy and transmission solutions. Now, Maia utilizes her policy skills, scientific nature, and abundant connections to bring additional capacity to organizations like yours.
